Lord of the Rings, Return of the King (DVD)

Tomorrow the final installation of the Lord of the Rings (LOTR) trilogy comes out on DVD. Since I get a chance to preview the DVD before it hits the streets I thought I should let everyone in on what to expect Tuesday. The final DVD for LOTR comes with two discs. The first disc contains the movie and the second is used for extras. I'm going to skip over talking about the first disc because it's so/so. The second disc with the extras is extremely disappointing. They basically kept repeating the same five minutes of footage over and over again. It's amazing how long you can make five minutes of film last if you narrate it. If you don't already own one of the LOTR movies, keep away from this one. Its okay to rent as long as you keep away from disc two. If you want to buy it I suggest getting all three movies in a collectors pack, which is bound to be out in the next year.

Blogger Info

Just wanted to let you know that the irregular placement of text in the blogs is a publishing error. So if you see a period starting off the first sentence or at the beginning of the last viewable line, that's blogger's fault. Someday I will fix it, but not today.

If you have AIM, you NEED THIS.

If you're like most people I know, you're using AIM. But unfortunately AIM offers only a few oadvanced features. Programs like DeadAIM allow you to tweak AIM to make the most of the program, but DeadAIM costs money and who wants to pay for something you can get for free? So check out Aimutation its a program that lets you log your chats, change the skin of AIM, and lots of other fun stuff.

Something Corporate

I have only listened to 5 songs by this band so far, but I am confident to say that my favorite band is Something Corporate.

If you aren't familiar with the group, they are a mix of Weezer, Greenday, Dave Matthews (the early days), and Third Eye Blind. Do yourself a favor by getting your hands on one of their albums fast! If you're familiar with the band, please post a comment with your favorite song.

G-Mail

Google has been beta testing its email service known as G-Mail for a month now, and even though it has yet to be publicly released it is already raising eyebrows. The email service is offering a full gigabyte of storage for it's clients for FREE! Yahoo!'s free email service currently only offers 20 megabytes of storage. That is fifty times more storage, for those who don't know how to push nerd numbers. Google's email will also incorporate their ingenious search engine technology into the email, making it easy to search through that gigabyte of mail. There is one downside to it involving privacy issues in the advertisements google ads to some of your mail. To learn more about G-Mail, check out Oreillynet.com's Helpful Article.

The Phantom

No, I'm not talking about a purple super hero. I'm talking about the phantom game console by Infinium Labs. This console has been talked about for a long time but few have believed in it because of the idea it is based on. To find out what this idea is check out the link provided here.

Handhelds from E3!

Just had to show off the new PSP (Playstation Portable, pictured below)...

and Nintendo DS (Dual Screen, below). Take note that the lower screen on the DS is a touch screen. Oh, and both handhelds utilize 802.11b technology (Hello Wi-Fi Gaming!). Both handhelds are scheduled to come out within the next year. Nintendo claims its release in the Fall for Japan, Europe, and North America. Playstation will release in Japan this Fall, soon to be followed by a release in Europe and North America Q1 of 2005. Hopefully Halo 2 will keep me distracted during those lonely Q4 months.
